Your damaged hair;
Not very pretty now is it?
Your healthy hair;
Now i havent personally gone to cosmetology school ,or taken a crash course in hair or chemical treatment for hair.
But i have played around with bleaches and dyes for about 4years now.
I have talked and asked questions to professionals and done a lot of research online.
so here's my personal OPPINION and expierence with hair.. :)
Okay so lets say its your first time bleaching.
PLEASE! if you have ever dyed your hair prior PLEASE be careful of what it is you are doing.
If you have never dyed your hair ,and your hair is "virgin" ,then please atleast use a bleach that isnt strong unless you have very dark or black hair.
You really dnt need a peroxide over 30 if you have never bleached or dyed before and your hairs virgin.
If you HAVE dyed your hair before ,depending on your color ,you'll need a bleach with peroxide from 30 to 40 and a toner.
Say you dyed your hair black ,and you wanna go platinum blonde. dnt go all out bleaching your hair thinking your gunna achieve platinum blonde in one night.
Do it in steps ,meaning go brown for a month (ATLEAST) but i would recomend 2-3months.
Then use your bleach ,your hair may turn brassy or not be a desirable londe ,but no worries that is what toner is for! (:
Since you had brown hair your going to have red pigments in your hair ,thiers toner you can buy that will tone out these pigment making it a nice ,clean ,pretty blonde.
So what color gets rid of red pigments? green!
Its very easy to google search the color pigment wheel.
This wheel shows you the main pigment colors and shows you what counter acts what. (:
Please dont read this and be disappointed that you arent going to be able to go from jet black to platinum blonde in one night and just forget what i say and do what ever you want. Take it from me, i have bleached my hair trying to go platinum blonde from black ,the only way you can honestly achieve this is if you strip the color out.
Which brings me to stripping hair.
Personally i have never stripped my hair nor do i know what it is or means to strip your hair ,but honestly it doesnt sound to healthy to me.
I have ,however used Color Oops ,which is suppose to get color and pigments out of your hair.
Say you had brown hair and went black.
This product is suppose to eliminate those blue pigments and makes it easier to wash out your dye.
You arent going to go out and buy this product and expect it to wash the color out in one rinse.
You have to sit there in the shower and wash ,wash ,wash ,and wash some more!!
apply shampoo and conditioner after shampoo and conditioner after.. well you get my point.
Next i want to talk about already damaged hair.
If you have damaged hair your going to need deep hydration condioners and lots of TLC (tender loving care)
If you go to school and straighten your hair everyday ,give it a break.
Atleast on the weekends or something!
If you cant afford treatments theres foods and oils around the house you can use too.
My personal favorite is mayo ,it makes my hair feel soo soft and thick,and i have had my hair to the point were it was falling out. (not a pretty sight.)
Theirs also vinegar ,eggs ,fatty oils ,just look it up on google you'll see.
So thats basically all I can think of on the top of my head ,please if you have any questions feel free to ask.
